Domestic violence is a terrible pattern of behavior in a relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. The behavior is usually learned or developed subconsciously.  The abuse is usually physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and even economical, and the acts threaten, belittle, intimidate, manipulate, hurt, and creates fear in the victim. The physical violence creates bruises, but it along with the other abuse patterns create inner wounds, that often takes a trained professional, and spiritual and familial support for the victim to overcome its devastating woes.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender. It affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels. The ones whom you least expect could be experiencing domestic violence.
